Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ibn Abi Rawwad informed us, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed in the mosque, and saw phlegm in the direction of the qiblah. When he finished his prayer, he said: 'When one of you prays in the mosque, he is conversing intimately with his Lord, and Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, is facing him; so let none of you spit toward the qiblah nor to his right.' Then he called for a stick and scraped it off, then called for perfume and dyed the spot with it.
