Abd al-A'la told us, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When one of your wives asks permission to go to the mosque, do not prevent her." He said: And the wife of Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, used to pray in the mosque, so he said to her: "You know that I dislike that." She said: "By Allah, I will not stop until you forbid me." He said: Then Umar was stabbed, and she was still praying in the mosque.
