حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّزَّالَ بْنَ سَبْرَةَ الْهِلَالِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا قَرَأَ آيَةً قَدْ سَمِعْتُ مِنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خِلَافَهَا فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَجِئْتُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَعَرَفْتُ فِي وَجْهِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ قَالَ كِلَاكُمَا مُحْسِنٌ لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا أَكْبَرُ عِلْمِي قَالَ مِسْعَرٌ قَدْ ذَكَرَ فِيهِ لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا إِنَّ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ اخْتَلَفُوا فَأَهْلَكَهُمْ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hashim told us: Shu'ba told us, from Abdul Malik ibn Maysarah, who said: I heard al-Nazzal ibn Sabrah al-Hilali narrating from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: I heard a man recite a verse in a form different from what I had heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so I seized him and brought him to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I recognized displeasure in the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said, "Both of you are correct; do not differ" — this is the best of my knowledge. Mis'ar said: he mentioned in it, "Do not differ, for those before you differed and it destroyed them."
