حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَنْ نَهِيكِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ السُّلَمِيِّ أَنَّهُ أَتَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ قَرَأْتُ الْمُفَصَّلَ اللَّيْلَةَ فِي رَكْعَةٍ فَقَالَ هَذًّا مِثْلَ هَذِّ الشِّعْرِ أَوْ نَثْرًا مِثْلَ نَثْرِ الدَّقَلِ إِنَّمَا فُصِّلَ لِتُفَصِّلُوا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ النَّظَائِرَ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرُنُ عِشْرِينَ سُورَةً الرَّحْمَنُ وَالنَّجْمُ عَلَى تَأْلِيفِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ كُلُّ سُورَتَيْنِ فِي رَكْعَةٍ وَذَكَرَ الدُّخَانَ وَعَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ فِي رَكْعَةٍ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
A man came to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud and said: 'I recited the Mufassal (surahs) in one rak'ah.' He said: 'Rushing through it like rushing through poetry, or scattering like dry dates are scattered! It was divided into sections so that you would recite them separately. I know the pairs of surahs that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to combine — twenty surahs: al-Rahman and al-Najm (according to Ibn Mas'ud's arrangement), two surahs per rak'ah.' He mentioned al-Dukhan and 'Amma Yatasa'alun in one rak'ah.
