Affan ibn Muslim told us, Shu'bah told us, al-Walid ibn al-Ayzar ibn Hurayth informed me, who said: I heard Abu Amr al-Shaybani say: The owner of this house told us - and he pointed to the house of Abdullah, but did not name him - who said: "I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: 'Which deed is most beloved to Allah?' He said: 'Prayer at its proper time.' I said: 'Then which?' He said: 'Then kindness to parents.' I said: 'Then which?' He said: 'Then jihad in the way of Allah.'" He said: "He told me these, and had I asked for more, he would have given me more."
