حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَعْيَنِ الْعَبْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ الْجُشَمِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ سَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْقِرَدَةِ وَالْخَنَازِيرِ أَمِنْ نَسْلِ الْيَهُودِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَلْعَنْ قَوْمًا قَطُّ فَمَسَخَهُمْ وَكَانَ لَهُمْ نَسْلٌ حَتَّى يُهْلِكَهُمْ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ غَضِبَ عَلَى الْيَهُودِ فَمَسَخَهُمْ وَجَعَلَهُمْ مِثْلَهُمْ.

Abu Sa'id told us, Dawud ibn Abi al-Furat told us, Muhammad ibn Zayd told us, from Abu al-A'yan al-'Abdi, from Abu al-Ahwas al-Jushami, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: We asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the monkeys and pigs — are they descended from the Jews? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah never cursed a people and transformed them while they had descendants, until He destroyed them. Rather, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, became angry with the Jews and transformed them, making them like these [creatures]."
