Hajjaj told us, Sufyan told us, Mansur told us, from Rib'i, from al-Bara' ibn Najiyah al-Kahili, from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, the millstone of Islam will keep turning for thirty-five, or thirty-six, or thirty-seven years; if it should collapse, it will be as the fate of those who were destroyed before, but if their religion stands firm for them, it will stand firm for them for seventy years." Umar said: O Messenger of Allah, is that from what has already passed, or from what remains? He said: "Rather, from what remains."
