Abu Sa'id narrated to us, Abu Ya'qub, meaning Ishaq ibn Uthman al-Kilabi, informed us. He said: I heard Khalid ibn Durayk narrating from Abu al-Darda', who attributed the hadith to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah will not combine in the belly of a man dust (gathered) in the path of Allah and the smoke of Hellfire. Whoever's feet become dusty in the path of Allah, Allah will make the rest of his body forbidden to the Fire. Whoever fasts a day in the path of Allah, Allah will distance him from the Fire by a distance of a thousand years for a swift rider. Whoever is wounded in the path of Allah, he will be sealed with the seal of the martyrs; he will have a light on the Day of Resurrection, its color like the color of saffron and its fragrance like the fragrance of musk. The first and last will recognize him by it, saying: 'So-and-so bears the mark of the martyrs.' And whoever fights in the path of Allah for the time it takes to milk a camel, Paradise becomes obligatory for him."
