حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ أَبِي وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ وَكَانَ أَتَى النَّجَاشِيَّ وَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَكَانَ رَحَلَ إِلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ فَمَاتَ وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ وَإِنَّهَا بِأَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ زَوَّجَهَا إِيَّاهُ النَّجَاشِيُّ وَمَهَرَهَا أَرْبَعَةَ آلَافٍ ثُمَّ جَهَّزَهَا مِنْ عِنْدِهِ وَبَعَثَ بِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ شُرَحْبِيلَ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ وَجِهَازُهَا كُلُّهُ مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّجَاشِيِّ وَلَمْ يُرْسِلْ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ وَكَانَ مُهُورُ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ.

Ibrahim ibn Ishaq told us, he said Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Ma'mar - my father said, and Ali ibn Ishaq told us, Abdullah informed us, Ma'mar informed us - from al-Zuhri, from Urwah, from Umm Habibah, that she was married to Ubaydullah ibn Jahsh, and he had gone to the Negus - Ali ibn Ishaq said: he had journeyed to the Negus - and he died there. And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, married Umm Habibah while she was in the land of Abyssinia; the Negus married her to him and gave her a dowry of four thousand dirhams, then equipped her from his own resources and sent her to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with Shurahbil ibn Hasanah, and her entire trousseau was from the Negus, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not send her anything. And the dowries of the wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, were four hundred dirhams each.
