قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ : مَالِكٌ وَحَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ الْمَعْنَى عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ سَمِعَتْهُ وَهُوَ يُقْرَأُ وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرْتَنِي بِقِرَاءَتِكَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ إِنَّهَا لَآخِرُ مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا فِي الْمَغْرِبِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
He said: I read to Abd al-Rahman b. Mahdi: Malik — and Hammad b. Khalid told us: Malik told us, in meaning, from Ibn Shihab, from Ubayd Allah b. Abd Allah b. Utbah, from Ibn Abbas, that he said: Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith heard him reciting 'Wal-Mursalati Urfan' and said: O my son, by God, your recitation of this surah has reminded me — it is the last thing I heard the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) recite in it during the Maghrib prayer.
