Sufyan told us, from Manbudh, from his mother, who said: I was with Maymunah when Ibn 'Abbas came to her. She said: "O my son, why is your hair disheveled?" He said: "Umm 'Ammar, my hairdresser, is menstruating." She said: "O my son, what does menstruation have to do with the hand? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to come in to one of us while she was menstruating, and he would put his head in her lap and recite the Qur'an while she was menstruating. Then one of us would get up with his khumrah and place it in the mosque while she was menstruating. O my son, what does menstruation have to do with the hand?"
