Affan told us: Hammam told us, from Qatadah, from Sa'id - meaning Ibn al-Musayyab - from Amir b. Abi Umayyah, from his sister Umm Salamah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to wake at dawn in a state of major impurity and would fast, not breaking his fast.
