حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْجَزَّارِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ فَلَمَّا كَبِرَ وَضَعُفَ أَوْتَرَ بِسَبْعٍ.

Abu Mu'awiyah told us, from al-A'mash, from Amr b. Murrah, from Yahya b. al-Jazzar, from Umm Salamah, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray the Witr with thirteen rak'ahs; then when he grew old and weak, he prayed the Witr with seven."
