حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ أَنَّ مَيْمُونَ الْمَكِّيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ صَلَّى بِهِمْ يُشِيرُ بِكَفَّيْهِ حِينَ يَقُومُ وَحِينَ يَرْكَعُ وَحِينَ يَسْجُدُ وَحِينَ يَنْهَضُ لِلْقِيَامِ فَيَقُومُ فَيُشِيرُ بِيَدَيْهِ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةً لَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا يُصَلِّيهَا فَوَصَفْتُ لَهُ هَذِهِ الْإِشَارَةَ فَقَالَ إِنْ أَحْبَبْتَ أَنْ تَنْظُرَ إِلَى صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاقْتَدِ بِصَلَاةِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ.

Maymun al-Makki reported that he saw Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr leading them in prayer, gesturing with both his palms when standing, when bowing, when prostrating, and when rising to stand. I went to Ibn Abbas and said: 'I saw Ibn al-Zubayr praying a prayer I have not seen anyone pray' — and I described the gestures to him. He said: 'If you wish to see the prayer of the Prophet (peace be upon him), then follow the prayer of Ibn al-Zubayr.'
