Abd al-Razzaq told us, he said: Ma'mar told us, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah, from Aishah, who said: "The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stood and led the people in prayer, and prolonged the recitation, then bowed and prolonged the bowing, then raised his head and prolonged the recitation, which was shorter than his first recitation, then bowed and prolonged the bowing, which was shorter than his first bowing, then raised his head and prostrated two prostrations, then stood and did the same in the second rak'ah. Then he finished and said: 'The sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death of anyone nor for his life, but they are two signs among the signs of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So when you see that, hasten to the prayer.'" Ma'mar told us: Hisham ibn Urwah also informed me, from his father, from Aishah, similarly, adding: he said: "So when you see that, give charity and pray."
