Ibrahim ibn Abi al-Abbas told us: Abu Uways told us, from al-Zuhri: that Urwah ibn al-Zubayr told him that A'ishah, Mother of the Believers, told him about the pledge of allegiance of women: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never touched the hand of a woman with his own hand, except that he would take a pledge from her; and when he had taken the pledge from her and she had given it, he would say: 'Go, for I have pledged allegiance with you.'"
