Hasan bin Musa told us, saying Shayban told us, from Yahya, from Abu Hafsah, freedman of Aisha, that Aisha informed him that when the sun was eclipsed in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he performed ablution and gave orders, and it was called out: The prayer is to be performed in congregation. So he stood and prolonged the standing in his prayer. She said: I think he recited Surat al-Baqarah. Then he bowed and prolonged the bowing, then said: Allah hears whoever praises Him, then he stood again as long as before, without prostrating, then he bowed again, and then prostrated. Then he stood and did the same as before, then bowed twice more within one prostration-cycle, then he sat, and the sun cleared.
