Hashim told us: Ishaq ibn Sa'id told us, from his father, from A'isha, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came in to me saying: "O A'isha, your people will be the quickest of my nation to join me." She said: When he sat down, I said: "O Messenger of Allah, may Allah make me a ransom for you, you came in saying words that alarmed me." He said: "What was it?" She said: "You claim that my people will be the quickest of your nation to join you." He said: "Yes." She said: "Why is that?" He said: "Death makes it sweet to them, and their nation begrudges them." She said: I said: "Then how will people be after that, or at that time?" He said: "Like locusts, the strong of them devouring the weak, until the Hour comes upon them." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: A man interpreted it as meaning young locusts whose wings have not yet grown.
