Hashim told us: al-Layth told us: Uqayl told us, from Ibn Shihab, from Urwah, from A'isha, who said: Whenever one of her family was afflicted by death and the general women dispersed from her, leaving only the women of her close household, she would order a pot of talbinah to be cooked, then order tharid (a bread and broth dish) to be made, and pour the talbinah over the tharid, then say: "Eat of it, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Talbinah refreshes the heart of the sick person and takes away some of the grief.'"
