حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنَا عَائِشَةُ بِنْتُ طَلْحَةَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَا نُجَاهِدُ مَعَكَ فَقَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَكِ أَحْسَنُ الْجِهَادِ وَأَجْمَلُهُ الْحَجُّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَلَا أَدَعُ الْحَجَّ أَبَدًا بَعْدَ أَنْ سَمِعْتُ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Yunus told us: Abd al-Wahid told us, from Habib ibn Abi Amrah, who said: A'isha bint Talha told us that A'isha, Mother of the Believers, said: I said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "O Messenger of Allah, shall we not perform jihad with you?" She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "For you the best and most excellent jihad is an accepted Hajj." A'isha said: "So I will never abandon the Hajj after having heard this from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him."
