Masruq came to Aisha and said: "O Mother of the Believers, did Muhammad (peace be upon him) see his Lord?" She said: "SubhanAllah! My hair stood on end from what you said. Know three things: whoever tells you them has lied. Whoever tells you that Muhammad (peace be upon him) saw his Lord has lied." Then she recited: "Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives all vision" and "It is not fitting for a human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation, or from behind a veil." "And whoever tells you he knows what will happen tomorrow has lied." Then she recited: "Indeed, Allah alone has knowledge of the Hour..." "And whoever tells you that Muhammad (peace be upon him) concealed (any part of the revelation) has lied." Then she recited: "O Messenger, convey what has been revealed to you from your Lord." "But he saw Jibril in his true form twice."
