Ibrahim bin Khalid narrated to us: Rabah narrated to us: Ma'mar narrated to us, from az-Zuhri, from Abdur-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Ka'b bin Malik, from his mother, that Umm Mubashshir entered upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, during the illness from which he passed away, and said: May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah, what do you suspect as the cause? I suspect nothing but the food you ate with him at Khaybar — and her son had died before the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. He said: I too suspect nothing else; this is the time my aorta is being severed.
