Abu Sa'id, the freedman of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Mahdi ibn 'Imran al-Mazini narrated to us who said: I heard Abu al-Tufayl, when he was asked, "Did you see the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him?" He said, "Yes." It was said, "Did you speak with him?" He said, "No, but I saw him set out to a certain place, with 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud and some of his Companions, until he came to an enclosed house. He said, 'Open this door,' and it was opened, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, entered, and I entered with him. There was a thick blanket in the middle of the house. He said, 'Lift this blanket,' and they lifted it, and there was a one-eyed boy beneath it. He said, 'Stand up, boy,' so the boy stood up. He said, 'O boy, do you testify that I am the Messenger of God?' The boy said, 'Do you testify that I am the messenger of God?' He said, 'Do you testify that I am the Messenger of God?' The boy said, 'Do you testify that I am the messenger of God?' The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'Seek refuge in God from the evil of this one,' twice."
