Mu'awiyah ibn Amr told us: Abu Ishaq told us, from Za'idah, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Jamil ibn Abi Maymunah, from Abu Zakariyya al-Khuza'i, from Salman, that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Standing guard for a day and a night in the way of Allah is like fasting a month and its night prayer; if he dies, the reward of the one standing guard continues for him until he is resurrected, and he is kept safe from the trial."
