It was narrated, through a man, from Abu Ayyub: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray four rak'ahs before the noon prayer. It was said to him, "You keep performing this prayer constantly." He said, "The gates of heaven are opened when the sun passes its zenith, and they do not close until the noon prayer is performed, so I love that good should rise up for me to heaven."
