Al-Musayyab b. Rafi' narrated from Ali b. al-Salt, from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari: that he used to pray four rak'ahs before the noon prayer. It was said to him, "You persist in this prayer." He said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, do it, so I asked him about it, and he said, 'It is an hour in which the gates of heaven are opened, and I love that a righteous deed of mine should rise up during it.'"
