Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Simak ibn Harb, from Jabir ibn Samurah, from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, who said: Whenever food was brought to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he would eat from it and send the remainder to me. One day he sent a bowl he had not eaten from at all, containing garlic, so I asked him: Is it forbidden? He said: No, but I dislike it because of its smell. I said: Then I dislike what you dislike.
