Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu Hamzah, a man from the Ansar, from a man from Banu Abs, from Hudhayfah, that he prayed with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at night. When he entered the prayer, he said, "Allah is the Greatest, Possessor of the dominion, the might, the pride, and the greatness." He said: Then he recited Surat al-Baqarah, then he bowed, and his bowing was nearly as long as his standing, and he would say, "Glory be to my Lord the Magnificent." Then he raised his head, and his standing was nearly as long as his bowing, and he would say, "To my Lord be praise, to my Lord be praise." Then he prostrated, and his prostration was nearly as long as his standing, and he would say, "Glory be to my Lord the Most High, glory be to my Lord the Most High." Then he raised his head, and what was between the two prostrations was nearly as long as the prostration, and he would say, "My Lord, forgive me, my Lord, forgive me." He said: this continued until he had recited al-Baqarah, Al Imran, al-Nisa, al-Ma'idah, and al-An'am — Shu'bah was the one who was uncertain about al-Ma'idah and al-An'am.
