حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ جَاءَ عُوَيْمِرٌ إِلَى عَاصِمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ فَقَالَ سَلْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا وَجَدَ رَجُلًا مَعَ امْرَأَتِهِ فَقَتَلَهُ أَيُقْتَلُ بِهِ أَمْ كَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ قَالَ فَسَأَلَ عَاصِمٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَابَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسَائِلَ قَالَ فَلَقِيَهُ عُوَيْمِرٌ فَقَالَ مَا صَنَعْتَ قَالَ مَا صَنَعْتُ إِنَّكَ لَمْ تَأْتِنِي بِخَيْرٍ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَابَ الْمَسَائِلَ فَقَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ وَاللَّهِ لَآتِيَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَأَسْأَلَنَّهُ فَأَتَاهُ فَوَجَدَهُ قَدْ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ فِيهِمَا قَالَ فَدَعَا بِهِمَا فَلَاعَنَ بَيْنَهُمَا قَالَ فَقَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ لَئِنْ انْطَلَقْتُ بِهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ كَذَبْتُ عَلَيْهَا قَالَ فَفَارَقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْمُرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَصَارَتْ سُنَّةً فِي الْمُتَلَاعِنَيْنِ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْصِرُوهَا فَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أَسْحَمَ أَدْعَجَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ عَظِيمَ الْأَلْيَتَيْنِ فَلَا أُرَاهُ إِلَّا قَدْ صَدَقَ وَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أَحْمَرَ كَأَنَّهُ وَحَرَةٌ فَلَا أُرَاهُ إِلَّا كَاذِبًا قَالَ فَجَاءَتْ بِهِ عَلَى النَّعْتِ الْمَكْرُوهِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Kamil narrated to us: Ibrahim, that is Ibn Sa'd, narrated to us: Ibn Shihab narrated to us, from Sahl ibn Sa'd, who said: Uwaymir came to Asim ibn Adi and said: Ask the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him — what do you think of a man who finds another man with his wife and kills him — is he to be killed in retaliation, or how should he act? He said: Asim asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, disapproved of such questions. He said: Then Uwaymir met him and said: What did you do? He said: What did I do? You have not brought me any good; I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he disapproved of such questions. Uwaymir said: By Allah, I will surely go to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and ask him myself. So he went to him and found that revelation had already come down concerning the two of them. He said: He called for the two of them and made them perform the mutual imprecation (li'an) between them. Uwaymir said: If I keep her after this, O Messenger of Allah, I would have lied about her. He said: So he separated from her before the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, could order him to do so. He said: This then became the established practice for those undergoing mutual imprecation. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Watch her; if she gives birth to a child that is dark-skinned with dark deep-set eyes and large buttocks, then I consider him to have spoken the truth; but if she gives birth to a child that is reddish, as though resembling a small reddish worm, then I do not consider him but a liar. He said: She then gave birth to a child matching the disliked description.
