Muhammad ibn 'Abbad, from Makkah, and Abu Marwan al-'Uthmani, Muhammad ibn 'Uthman ibn Khalid, told us, both said: Abu Damrah told us, from Ibn Harmalah, from Ya'la ibn 'Abd ar-Rahman ibn Hurmuz, that 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbad az-Zuraqi informed him that he used to hunt sparrows at the well of Abu Ihab, which belonged to them. 'Ubadah saw me having caught a sparrow, so he took it from me and released it, and said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, declared sacred what lies between its two lava tracts, just as Abraham declared Mecca sacred. And 'Ubadah was one of the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
