حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفَقَةُ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَحْتَسِبُهَا صَدَقَةٌ.

Waki' narrated to us: Shu'ba narrated to us, from Adi ibn Thabit, from Abdullah ibn Yazid, from Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man's spending on his family, when he seeks the reward for it, counts as charity."
