حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رَجَاءٍ عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ ضَمْعَجٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَؤُمُّ الْقَوْمَ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَإِنْ كَانُوا فِي الْقِرَاءَةِ سَوَاءً فَأَعْلَمُهُمْ بِالسُّنَّةِ فَأَقْدَمُهُمْ هِجْرَةً فَإِنْ كَانُوا فِي الْهِجْرَةِ سَوَاءً فَأَكْبَرُهُمْ سِنًّا وَلَا تَؤُمَّنَّ رَجُلًا فِي سُلْطَانِهِ وَلَا تَجْلِسْ عَلَى تَكْرِمَتِهِ فِي بَيْتِهِ حَتَّى يَأْذَنَ لَكَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu Mu'awiya narrated to us: al-A'mash narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Raja, from Aws ibn Dam'aj, from Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who should lead the people in prayer is the one most versed in the Book of Allah among them; if they are equal in recitation, then the one most knowledgeable of the Sunnah; if they are equal in that, then the one who emigrated earliest; if they are equal in emigration, then the eldest in age. And let no man lead another in prayer within his place of authority, nor sit in his place of honor in his house, except with his permission."
