Hasan told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Khalid ibn Abi Imran, from Abu Umamah al-Bahili, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Four whose rewards continue to run for them after death: one stationed [guarding the frontier] in the path of Allah; one who did a deed, its like continues to be recorded for him; a man who gave a charity, its reward is his as long as it continues; and a man who left behind a righteous child, who supplicates for him."
