حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الطُّفَيْلِ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ قَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفْرَةٍ سَافَرَهَا وَذَلِكَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَجَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ قُلْتُ مَا حَمَلَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ أَرَادَ أَنْ لَا يُحْرِجَ أُمَّتَهُ.

Abd al-Rahman told us, Qurrah ibn Khalid told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, Abu al-Tufayl told us, Mu'adh ibn Jabal told us, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went out on a journey he made, and that was during the campaign of Tabuk, and he combined the Dhuhr with the Asr, and the Maghrib with the Isha. I said: What led him to do that? He said: He wanted not to burden his nation.
