حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَوْهَبٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ عِنْدَنَا كِتَابُ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا أَخَذَ الصَّدَقَةَ مِنْ الْحِنْطَةِ وَالشَّعِيرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ.

Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, Sufyan told us, from Amr ibn Uthman — namely Ibn Mawhab — from Musa ibn Talhah, who said: We have the letter of Mu'adh from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he only took charity from wheat, barley, raisins, and dates.
