حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَسُرَيْجٌ قَالَا ثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلَنِي عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ عَمَّا قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعِيدَيْنِ قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ بِمَ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْخُرُوجِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ قَرَأَ اقْتَرَبَتْ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ وَ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ.

Yunus and Surayj told us, they said: Fulayh told us, from Damrah b. Sa'id, from 'Ubaydullah b. 'Abdullah b. 'Utbah b. Mas'ud, from Abu Waqid al-Laythi, who said: 'Umar, may Allah, the Exalted, be pleased with him, asked me about what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recited in the prayer of the two festivals — Surayj said: "with what did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recite in the prayer of the [Eid] procession?" — I said: he recited "The Hour has drawn near and the moon split" and "Qaf, by the Glorious Qur'an."
