حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ قَالَ لِي زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ أَلَمْ أَرَكَ اللَّيْلَةَ خَفَّفْتَ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِي سَجْدَتَيْ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيَقْرَأُ فِيهِمَا بِطُولَى الطُّولَيَيْنِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Sulayman ibn Dawud told us: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Zinad told us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Marwan ibn al-Hakam, who said: Zayd ibn Thabit said to me: 'Did I not see you tonight shortening the recitation in the two rak'ahs of Maghrib? By the One in whose hand is my soul, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite in them the longer of the two long surahs.'
