Yazid told us: Hisham informed us, from Wasil, from Yahya ibn Uqayl, from Yahya ibn Ya'mar, from Abu Dharr, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Every joint of the son of Adam owes a charity each day," then he said: "Removing something harmful from the road is charity, greeting people is charity, commanding good is charity, forbidding wrong is charity, and intimacy with one's spouse is charity." He said: We said: "O Messenger of Allah, does a man fulfill his desire and it counts as charity for him?" He said: "Yes. Consider: if he had placed that desire in what Allah has forbidden him, would he not have borne a sin for it?" We said: "Yes indeed." He said: "So if he places it in what Allah has made lawful, it is a charity." He said: And he mentioned other things, a charity, a charity. He said: Then he said: "And two rak'ahs of the mid-morning prayer suffice for all of this."
