Ibn Numayr and Muhammad ibn Ubayd told us, they said: al-A'mash told us, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, who said: Abu Dharr said: While I was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in the mosque when the sun set, he said: "O Abu Dharr, where does the sun go?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "It goes until it prostrates before its Lord, Mighty and Sublime, then it seeks permission and is given permission, and it is as if it is said to it: 'Return whence you came,' so it rises from its place, and that is its resting place." Muhammad said: Then he recited: "And the sun runs to its resting place."
