حَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَرْوَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ الشِّعْرِ حِكْمَةً حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ أَبِي وَوَافَقَهُ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ يَعْنِي اتَّفَقَا عَلَى عُرْوَةَ وَلَمْ يَقُولَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ.

Mansur ibn Abi Muzahim told me, Ibrahim ibn Sa'd told us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Bakr, from Marwan, from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Aswad ibn Abd Yaghuth, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, in poetry there is wisdom." Abd al-Razzaq told us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Urwa, from Marwan ibn al-Hakam, from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Aswad ibn Abd Yaghuth, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him - and he mentioned the hadith. My father said: Ibn al-Mubarak agreed with him - meaning they both agreed on "Urwa" and did not say "Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman."
