حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ وَيَتْلُو آيَاتٍ مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ وَكَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ قَصْدًا وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا.

Waki' told us, from Sufyan, from Simak, from Jabir ibn Samurah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to sit between the two sermons and recite verses from the Qur'an, and his prayer was moderate and his sermon was moderate.
