حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ كَانَ يُخَفِّفُ وَلَا يُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ هَؤُلَاءِ قَالَ وَنَبَّأَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ بِ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ وَنَحْوِهَا.

Jabir ibn Samurah was asked about the prayer of the Prophet (peace be upon him). He said: 'He used to make it light and did not pray like these people do.' He also informed me that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to recite in the Fajr prayer 'Qaf. By the Glorious Quran' (Surah Qaf) and similar surahs.
