حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ أَبِي مَلِيحٍ عَنْ نُبَيْشَةَ الْهُذَلِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَعْتِرُ عَتِيرَةً لَنَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا قَالَ قَالَ اذْبَحُوا فِي أَيِّ شَهْرٍ مَا كَانَ وَبَرُّوا اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى وَأَطْعِمُوا قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا نُفَرِّعُ فَرَعًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا قَالَ فِي كُلِّ سَائِمَةٍ فَرَعٌ تَغْذُوهُ مَاشِيَتُكَ فَإِذَا اسْتَحْمَلَ ذَبَحْتَهُ وَتَصَدَّقْتَ بِلَحْمِهِ قَالَ أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ عَلَى ابْنِ السَّبِيلِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Nubayshah al-Hudhali said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), 'We used to offer the 'Atirah sacrifice during the pre-Islamic period. What do you command us?' He said: 'Sacrifice in any month, do good for the sake of Allah, Blessed and Most High, and feed people.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we used to offer the Fara' sacrifice during the pre-Islamic period. What do you command us?' He said: 'With every grazing animal there is a Fara'. You nurture it with your livestock, and when it is ready for use, sacrifice it and distribute its meat to the needy.'
