حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ ذَكَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَا تَسْأَلْ الْإِمَارَةَ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ تُعْطَهَا عَنْ غَيْرِ مَسْأَلَةٍ تُعَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ تُعْطَهَا عَنْ مَسْأَلَةٍ تُكَلْ إِلَيْهَا وَإِذَا حَلَفْتَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَرَأَيْتَ غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا فَأْتِ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ وَكَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Abi 'Adi told us, from Ibn 'Awn, from al-Hasan, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Samura, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned -- he said: "Do not seek leadership, for if you are given it without asking, you will be helped in it; and if you are given it upon asking, you will be entrusted to it alone. And if you swear an oath and then see something better than it, do the thing that is better, and make expiation for your oath."
