حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ فَرَغَ مِنْ بَدْرٍ عَلَيْكَ الْعِيرَ لَيْسَ دُونَهَا شَيْءٌ قَالَ فَنَادَاهُ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ إِنَّهُ لَا يَصْلُحُ لَكَ قَالَ وَلِمَ قَالَ لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِنَّمَا وَعَدَكَ إِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ وَقَدْ أَعْطَاكَ مَا وَعَدَكَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) finished (the Battle of) Badr, it was suggested to him: "Go after the caravan — there is nothing standing between you and it." Al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib called out: "That is not appropriate for you." He said: "Why?" Al-'Abbas said: "Because Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, promised you one of the two groups, and He has already given you what He promised."
