Muhammad b. Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'ba narrated to us, from Muhammad b. Abi Ya'qub al-Dabbi, who said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakra narrating from his father that al-Aqra' b. Habis came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "It is only the thieves of the pilgrims from Aslam, Ghifar, and Muzayna who have given you their pledge" — and I think he said Juhayna too, Muhammad being the one uncertain about it — so the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "What do you think — if Aslam, Ghifar, and Muzayna, and I think Juhayna too, were better than Banu Tamim, Banu 'Amir, Asad, and Ghatafan, would they have failed and lost?" He said: "Yes." He said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, they are indeed better than them, they are indeed better than them."
