Affan told us: Abu Awanah told us: Abu Bishr told us, from Abdullah ibn Shaqiq, from Raja ibn Abi Raja al-Bahili, from Mihjan - Affan said: he is Ibn al-Adra' - he said: And Hammad told us, from al-Jurayri, from Abdullah ibn Shaqiq, from Mihjan ibn al-Adra', who said: Raja said: I came along with Mihjan one day until we reached the mosque of Basra, and found Burayda al-Aslami sitting at one of the doors of the mosque. He said: And there was a man in the mosque called Sukbah who used to prolong the prayer. When we reached the door of the mosque where Burayda was - and Burayda was a man given to jesting - he said: "O Mihjan, will you not pray as Sukbah prays?" He said: So Mihjan did not respond to him at all and turned away. He said: And Mihjan said to me: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took me by the hand and set off walking until he climbed [Mount] Uhud and looked out over Medina, and said: 'Woe to her mother, from a town its people will abandon at its most populous; the Dajjal will come to it and find at every one of its gates an angel with a drawn sword, so he will not enter it.'" He said: "Then he descended until, when we were at the threshold of the mosque, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man praying in the mosque, prostrating and bowing, prostrating and bowing." He said: "So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: 'Who is this?'" He said: "So I began to praise him to him." He said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, this is so-and-so, and this, and this.'" He said: "'Be silent, do not let him hear it lest you ruin him.'" He said: "Then he went on walking until, when we were near a chamber, he let go of my hand and said: 'Indeed the best of your religion is its ease; indeed the best of your religion is its ease; indeed the best of your religion is its ease.'"
