حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى سَمِعْتُ الْأَعْمَشَ حَدَّثَنِي مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّهَا صَوْمُ شَهْرٍ فَمَاتَتْ أَفَأَصُومُهُ عَنْهَا قَالَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّكِ دَيْنٌ أَكُنْتِ قَاضِيَتَهُ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَدَيْنُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُقْضَى.
انگریزی ترجمہ
A woman said: "O Messenger of Allah, my mother had an obligation to fast for a month, and she died (before fulfilling it). Shall I fast on her behalf?" He said: "If your mother owed a debt, would you pay it off?" She said: "Yes." He said: "Then the debt owed to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is more deserving of being fulfilled."
