Abu Mu'awiyah told us, from al-Hajjaj, from Sa'id ibn Ubayd ibn Zayd ibn Uqbah, from his father, from Samurah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If a man's goods are stolen, or he loses goods, and he then finds them specifically in the possession of another man, he has the greater right to them, and the buyer has recourse against the seller for the price.
