حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أَتَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَةٌ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا صَوْمُ شَهْرٍ أَفَأَقْضِي عَنْهَا قَالَ فَقَالَ أَرَأَيْتِ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّكِ دَيْنٌ أَمَا كُنْتِ تَقْضِينَهُ قَالَتْ بَلَى قَالَ فَدَيْنُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَحَقُّ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
A woman came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, my mother died while she still owed a month of fasting. Shall I fast on her behalf?" He said: "If your mother had a debt, would you pay it off for her?" She said: "Yes." He said: "Then the debt owed to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is more deserving of being paid."
